Ravenstone is a primary school in Balham, South London.

This is the website of the 2004 School Travel Plan, which was a project of the Ravenstone PTA. The school's main website is at www.ravenstoneschool.co.uk.

A School Travel Plan is a package of measures to make getting to school safer and more pleasant — for students, staff and parents.

The good news is that most students at Ravenstone walk, cycle or scoot to school.

The bad news is that walking and cycling in Balham can be dangerous.

Ravenstone identified five urgent requirements:
1. An increase in the number of students getting to school on foot or by bike.
2. A decrease in traffic speed around the school.
3. Safer crossings on Balham High Road and Bedford Hill.
4. Better signage, particularly in Elmfield Road and Ravenstone Street.
5. No stopping on zigzags outside the school, or pavements built out to cover the zigzags.
