During the last six months, in consultation with parents and staff, Wandsworth Council have been considering engineering work to the streets and pavements around Ravenstone School.

The aim of the engineering work is to make walking to school safer and more pleasant.

There have been some objections to the proposals — in particular the proposed pedestrian crossing outside the school gates in Ravenstone Street — and concern has been raised at the lack of speed bumps in Carminia Road.

Work originally proposed for completion during the summer holidays is therefore now unlikely to begin until Autumn 2005 at the earliest.
